BitTorrent for Mac is a peer to peer software to download and upload files via BitTorrent protocol. BitTorrent was written in Python programming language before it was rebranded to uTorrent. There are several other clients available but uTorrent and BitTorrent has the largest usage share. Feature wise BitTorrent and uTorrent are almost same. Following are the main features of BitTorrent:

How to download & Install BitTorrent client for Mac OS X
The BitTorrent client is available for OS X 10.10 Yosemite, OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and OS X 10.7 Lion. BitTorrent can also be installed in previous versions of OS X.
- Go to the download page of BitTorrent and download the BitTorrent client for your mac.
- Open “BitTorrent.dmg” file and drag “BitTorrent.app” to Applications folder.
- Now you can access BitTorrent from from “F4″->”BitTorrent”.
To download any file from BitTorrent, double click on the torrent file and it will open with BitTorrent or if you have more than one torrent client installed, then right click and open it with BitTorrent.
